What do you think of someone who doesn't like being around large groups or crowds of people?

It really depends on the person. and the situation. I don't like being in large groups of people most of the time because, well, people tend to say stupid things and it gets on my nerves. Not to be mean or whatever. but people need to grow up, in my opinion. But I mean, there's people who are just shy and can't bring themselves to get in the group. And there's those people who think they'll never fit in. It all just depends on your personality.

Those who don't like crowds are usually introverts. Because introverts don't like small talk, they find it hard to mingle within large groups where very few people know each other and the only way to get to know anyone in that setting is by asking inane questions like - What do you think of the crowd here tonight?
Introverts live intense inner lives so it is worthwhile to get to know them on an one to one basis.

I am the same way so I don't think it is a bad thing at all. I love people but prefer to not hang out in crowds. I'm sure people do this sort of thing for a number of reasons.

i dont like hanging out with large groups because i usually get nervous standing there and about 10 people staring at you non stop until you finish talking so i hang out with about 4 the most....

What I think of someone who does not like being around larger groups is that that someone would be better off knowing that what others think of her or him is really none his or hers business.

Hell, i'm one of those people... Well i really don't like large groups because it's too much to manage, too much information at once and too many emotions. I like small groups because at least there it's easier to remember peoples names and becuase people tend to remember you better.

Nothing, really. Some people are introverts, some are extroverts. Personally, I think it's good that there's such a broad array of personalities, it makes for a much more interesting world!

If a person chooses not to join in they may have their own reasons but if it is a fobia they may need help or meds for social phobia type symptoms.
