This poor child dies as a result of injuries susposedly inflicted on her by her father, the press have barely mentioned this one. The father is not being targeted like other high profile cases...rest in peace little Yanire.

working in pediatric intensive care I have turned off the ventilator on so many abused children, and babies, it deeply saddens me that their death is less noticed, I take solace in that they are in the kingdom of heaven.

So sad! This poor child died at the hands of the person she should have been able to trust. May he burn in Hell for what he did to her.

As for high profile case, I think the difference is the fact that she is dead and the other high profile case is a missing child case. Everyone hopes she'll be found alive although that's probably not going to happen. It seems that we hear of a new child death each week. It's so sad. Children were put here to love.

Yes. I grew up in a small midwestern community. And my friend David had a brother a few years younger who was very feminine acting/talking/etc. He was only 7 or 8 when I met him, but everyone kind of assumed by that time already. He was really into hair and design, like the girls. He walked and talked like a girl. After he graduated from highschool, he moved to San Francisco with his boyfriend and they still live there. I have seen him a few times since. He is openly gay and still just as sweet and feminine as ever. And I agree with you. I don't think being gay is really a choice. You are born with it, just like you are born with green eyes or blue. Good luck with your project.

Well, it has reached me here in Canada. The poor wee tot. I feel for the family. This is a tragedy and this child should have been cherished.

Children die every day and everywhere as victims of abuse. It's not all that newsworthy compared to an apparent abduction where there may be a hope of rescuing a child who is still alive.

Exactly why you need to be proactive in getting the story out there and not be dependent on the media picking the story up.

good lord - i for one would not be able to do a job like that in a million years. i would suppose that the kids you help back to health compensates for that.

Oh my God. No didn't hear about this child.

Thanks, for putting it out there, we need to report the news.

God, knows the News Media hasn't done such a good job reporting. Have a good day.
