As an Iraq War veteran, I care more about the welfare of an Iraqi than a liberal. I am not alone.

Your question seems to imply that we are winning the war in Iraq. I read the yahoo article from beginning to end and other than the one paragraph relating to the capture of 50 insurgents by US and Israeli forces, there is nothing else there to indicate that we are winning, so maybe you meant to ask "How can people say we are winning the war in Iraq." that would have made a whole lot more sense based upon what I read in the article.

You are losing the war in Iraq. Because American politics don't know any thing about how people live in Islamic countries.

First : they are trying to make them Christian but they can't. Because Islam becomes one of the parts of their life.

Second : they think they can rule any law they want. but they don't know (maybe they know) there is one thing that differs between Islam and Christianity. that is the fighting against cruel Law. If one of the Islamic (specially shia branch) leaders Rule to fight against cruel all of the people that make that person as their leader, have to come out and fight against the cruel. even in other countries like Iran and Syria there are some persons that make that leader as their leader. So there gonna be a several people that are fighting against a cruel.
so things happen.

Third : Iraq is a part of Iran and nobody can tell any other thing except this. you are not from middle east so you don't know what has happened to this part of the world during last 100 years. I can definitely tell you that Iraq is a part of Iran. as an example there are a lot of Iranian shia Leaders that had studied in Najaf Islamic University.

So these are the reasons that the US is a real loser in Iraq.

The left are genetically opposed to any war. Just read some of the answers: "Any war where people die is a bad war." Not a lot of deep thinking going on here. Nothing, I believe, would cause them to take a stand and fight.

There was a slogan of the pacifist left during the Vietnam war: "Better Red than dead," meaning they would rather be conquered by the Soviet Union and live under Communist totalitarianism than to take a chance of dying, fighting in a war to protect their freedom. The same is true today, substituting Islam for Communism.

Many leftists will never fight no matter what, and, as I believe, many would actually prefer living in bondage over living in freedom where they have to make daily choices, taking responsibility for their own lives. Such pacifists would gladly convert to Islam if it meant not having to fight to save their own life and their own culture.

The Dems in Congress have been acting despicably in these early stages of World War III, Islam vs. the rest of the world, where the "war in Iraq" is but a battle, a skirmish.

Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution defines treason as:
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.

The Dems in Congress have done nothing but given aid and comfort to the enemies of the US in this war, boosting their morale and encouraging them to fight on against us, causing even more death to Americans...just as they did during the Vietnam War. If this same bunch of Dems were in office and acted the same way during the War Between the States, Lincoln would have had each one arrested and jailed.

It is truly a sad state of affairs in this country when half of Congress is the larger enemy we have to face in this Islamic World War. They will ultimately be responsible for many more American deaths, both soldiers abroad and innocent citizens--men, women and children--here.

How can people say we are winning the war in Iraq should have been your question. It has been reported over and over that although the surge helped a little bit, things are getting worse. Terrorists are moving into Iraq in record numbers. We were led into this war by fraud and lies. We should have spent that money going after Al Qaida instead of turning a country without terrorists into a selling spot for Al Qaida.

Simply enough put, the war in Iraq is one of competing ideologies. Unless we are prepared to kill all those who disagree with us we cannot prevail, because they are prepared to kill all of us. I suspect that, George W. Bush and his band of would be Texas Rangers notwithstanding, the majority of Americans do not intend to kill every Muslim on the planet to get the small number who committed the 9/11 bombings.

That means we can't win. Stop fooling yourself. Try reading up on the Viet Nam War, and read some of the lies we told ourselves then.

Probably cause our people are dying. I however disagree that we're losing. I think those people just don't like Bush( I really don't either but I believe those ragheads should die). Now there are some videos on Youtube about the 9/11 attacks being an inside job, and they're pretty convincing. I am starting to lose faith in this country but I don't plan on being a rebel ( except for the South) unless it gets really bad.

Here's another sad article, related to yours that further proves the neocon foreign policy isn't working

If you think that the war is actually going well and that only the Bush-haters think it isn't, then you are watching too much Fox News or listening to too much Limbaugh/Savage/O'Reilly.
