I am 16 and I'm about to turn 17 at the end of the month. I am fed up because I've tried to get my license twice already, and I always end up forgetting something. Last time I forgot the car insurance and this time I didn't have the stupid driver's ed thing. grrr now I have to get my license at 17 years old. How old were you when you got your license, and did you get it on your first try?

I was 17 when I got my license. No, I didn't get it on my first try. I passed the written test at 100% and failed the driving test because no one ever taught me how and I didn't take a course in high school. (I failed parallel parking). I went back a few days later after my Grandad took me out to practice and all went well.

I'm 16, I have a perfect driving record, and I have aced the "Learners Permit" test twice (which is identicle to the test given for the actual license). And I still don't have my license.
I'm just hoping that my dad will finally trust me enough to let me drive on my own. He (for some stupid reason) thinks that I need "more experiance behind the wheel." I've had my permit for over a year and a half, and almost 100 driving hours, which is twice what they ask. Oh well, I probably won't have enough money to buy a car in the near future anyway...

I was 18. the legal age in NYCity. I bought a 25 year old car, and learned to drive on the way home with it. I dont recommend anyone doing the same, it was nerve wracking. That was 60 years ago. I did get my license on the first try. This was during the time that insurance was not mandatory,so I did drive carefully.

not over sixteen, yet under sixteen. If a newborn under sixteen necessary a drivers license for helping out on a farm using farm equipment the youngster may be issued a definite enable to rigidity. some at 12 years previous and a few at 14 years previous looking on the locale.
