Over the course of about 9 hrs has now swollen up to about the ankle...feels tight and restricted.. obviously cant go to docs til tomorrow.... Did wear a pair of boots at the weekend but had no pain or probs then.. Dont wear high heels.. in fact live in my corcs at the mo!! Any suggestions?

avoid wine and cheese and chocolate until you do see a doctor. Elevate the foot above the level of your heart as much as you can, take tylenol for pain. It sounds more like gout than anything else frankly.

1] ice in ziploc bag, wrapped in thin cloth or paper towel to area every four hours
2] aspirin or motrin every six hours
3] keep foot elevated
4] consider elastic bandage - see if it feels better
No crocs, no flip flops - wear slippers to appt if you have to!
No red meat, seafood, chocolate, or alcohol until you see doctor.
Could be gout or bunion. Any history of either in your family?

If its gout ......
an old wives tale

eat tinned black cherries every day for 12 days.

aparently there is something that changes the acidity in the blood and this helps the problem.

Good luck hop along :)
