The odd prime factors of any number is found by dividing it by the smallest prime nos. whcih are 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 17, 19 etc. it goes on like this. Prime numbers are numbers which aren't divisible by any other number other than itself and 1.
7429 is divisible by 17 which gives 437 as the quotient. 437 is divisible by 19 whcih leaves us with 23. 23 is a prime number. Thus the smallest odd prime factor of 7429 is 17.

it's 17.
and you are supposed to check the prime numbers up to
sqrt(7429)=86.
