I recently did a movie and was told because I was getting paid for at least three days of acting, that I would be able to be part of sag and get the wagers for it. I know it cost money after that however, I was told today by the director that I wont be able to join because the film is too low of a budget.... but I was getting at least 100 a day. HELP

Of the three answers you have received so far, one is from a very young girl who's acting career is probably more imaginary than real.. I read profiles.

You have been swindled. The producers lied to you when they told you a three-day contract would get you into SAG, because they were not a SAG film. When I did a three day contract for a film, nearly 30 years ago, my pay and residuals amounted to more than $5000. A three day contract nowadays must be close to that. You can look it up on the sag web site. How'd you get this part? The best way to qualify for SAG is to work for a SAG film in which you have at least one spoken word of dialogue. Then you go pay the initiation fee and the monthly dues. Look those up too, the initiation fee is hefty. You need more help with your career? read my profile and write me at my aol address.

only 100 a day!! Datz cheap! I do movies & such too, and already I have more than 30,000$ after only a few movies!! The best way to get into da screen actors guild is to act more. With only 100 a day they prob. wont let u in very easily, but once you are in more movies you will have a betta chance. Good Luck!!

Go to SAG's website, or call them and speak with someone in their Membership Department.

I could join by virtue of being in a couple of its sister unions [Equity and AGMA], but I've heard that for someone actually working their way in there are a number of convoluted paths.

Good luck.
