I live in England so I dont know what your winters are like but here's ours.

British winters are fairly mild. The days become rather short, the shortest being around December 21st when the sun probably sets at about 5pm-7pm.
It rains, it snows, it rains some more, typical british weather.

Right now here, its 11:50 pm.

They have long winters and sometimes I know the sun is still shining at 11 pm at night...(it was when i was there in August). My mom and dad said in the winter it gets dark like at 2 pm though...maybe earlier.
