only in that it keeps you hydrated, it does not lessen the severity or duration of a cold.
Vitamin C taken when you are healthy will boost your immune system so you are less likely to catch a cold, but once you have it, you have it.
I have found a much more effective remedy in Zicam nasal swabs, the formulation is basically zinc, which interferes with viral replication. It does indeed lessen the intensity and duration of most head colds.

Orange juice has vitamin C. Vitamin is good for colds. It is interesting sometimes I will crave orange juice or oranges and drink or eat more than usual of it. Then suddenly I come down with a cold. I am not a doctor but maybe my body is telling me that I was lacking Vitamin C therefore I needed it, didn't get enough so I got sick.

Orange juice carries Vitamin C that is suppose to build immunity in our systems. Which is why people associate it to the common cold. It's not a cure. It's more like preventative medicine.

Yes, or anything with a lot of vitamin C. This has worked for me personally, if you consume a lot of vitamin C and water at the very start of a cold, it goes away in 2 days. Some people say it doesn't make a difference, but I think it depends on the person, because I do this every time I start to get sick and I never get more than a sniffle. It doesn't work for the flu though.
