There was never any doubt that she was pretty but whether she ever had any actual singing talent is highly debatable. Anyone who has ever seen her perform knows her slutty outfits and on stage writhing with the other dancers made her shows more like a Vegas strip show than a musical performance. Her performances were always so choreographed and staged. It's almost like the music or the song was an afterthought.
.
I know that's show biz and all that but there hasn't been any changes in those arena shows in twenty years. Ten people on stage all doing the same moves that they've been practicing for 6 months. Seen it . Thank you. Time to move on.
.
..*....I can say all this because she's from my "neck" of the woods, y'all, so don't get your claws out. Yes I know and I'm also old.
Tell me something I don't know.

The performance was unbelievably tragic !! Should not have even been televised !! There are several places that are running it over and over again so that people can witness it for themselves --- a standing legacy to the horrors of just how low a televised event can stoop !!

This girl is in serious jeopardy both on a personal and professional level and the thing that literally STUNS me is the FACT that no one in a position to do anything about it is doing anything at all !! Within the business of entertainment -- a performer usually has a management contract with a MANAGER ---- and it is standard fare within the context of most of these contracts that the actual manager has outrageous powers of decision making authority over the artist when it comes to the conduct of their career !!! WHY, whoever this person is in Britney's case, is not surfacing with some extremely hard line ultimatums here to save her AND what she has left of a career --- is beyond me ---- It is like the whole lot of them have simply chosen to abandon a sinking ship !!! It is extremely sad to watch an individual decompose in full public view that has ridden so high --- simply sad to say the least !!!

I think that this is another post to draw negative talk and bashing about Britney Spears.

Britney: richer and skinnier than 90 percent of americans with the freedom to pursue whatever she likes. Not a bad deal to be Britney. I would sumise it is likely she would NOT want to be one of the 95 percent who is us.

When I read some of the news articles written about her or gossip shows about her I think less of how she leads her life but more about the decaying of our society and how as a whole we seem to take real pleasure out of harming another person. Something is very wrong about that.

Why on one hand do we rightfully feel anguish for one star such as Owen Wilson; but on the other hand try to drive other stars to madness with relentless badgering and slanders...what a society we have become. Shame on those who wish ill of another.

She never had any talent to begin with. Her kind of "performance" comes from having choreographers, publicists, and sound engineers at your beck and call.

Take a look at some artists that have spent their lifetimes perfecting their craft like Les Paul or Andres Segovia.

To borrow from Warhol, she's on her 16th minute.

I think she just... let herself go. (in every way possible). It's sad really.

lol.

Maybe not that much.

But hey at least we have the good ol' days to remember her by. We can hold on to that, can we?

Watching "Crossroads" and listening to "Oops I did it again". Ah, happy times they were.

I'm afraid her "19 minutes of fame"- are JUST about up (Hey- she got an extra 4 minutes; she can't complain!). Unless she straightens her life out & re-invents herself REAL soon- her days of fame & fortune are just about over...

I never liked her. I thought she was kind'a a good singer, but I didn't like her songs. Now, I think she is just trying to hold on to fame to long.

talented means to be different than others. but she tried to become same as others. that is the mistake.
even tori amos fell into this trap sometime ago. one has to listen to the voice indside and be - DIFFERENT!
