No, I grew up in a mid-sized town. I was allowed to be barefoot in the house and yard, but my parents wore shoes everywhere, including inside, didn't take them off until bedtime. And I never even knew there were people who went barefoot outdoors (apart from yard and pool) until I was almost 29 years old, I thought wearing shoes was just as natural as breathing until then... when I heard of people going barefoot, however, I kicked my shoes off and I haven't worn them since! It's so much nicer barefoot, it's very sad most people here never even know it's an option.

Grew up in a reasonable sized town, not the city but not Deliverance country either, on the week ends we went to a farm my grandparents owned but I was in my bare feet as often as I could which might be around eighty percent of the time. If I had the chance to ditch my shoes and socks I always would.

Yup small country town with 6 siblings and my poor parents couldn't afford shoes for all of us so we went barefoot except to school where we wore hand-me-down shoes

i grew up in a city but was forced to go to the country/beach (tanning is not every little kid's dream) to walk barefooted because there was something off with the bones in my feet and walking barefooted on pebbles apparently fixed that.
