You mean like the Mayan "star wars"?

The Mayans and all the other ancient kingdoms of ancient Mexico/Central America foght wars according to an astronomical calendar.

Wars were fought according to the cycles of the planet Venus, which is considred "the morning star" and "the evening star" because it is there at both times.
