All I can say is what works best for me.
1)You can buy something called Emergen-C at your local drugstore or Walmart (tons of vitamins and 1000mg of vitamin C) When I've got a cold (or feel one coming on) I take 2 packets in water 3x a day.
2) Drink LOTS OF WATER
3) Good ole Chicken Soup
4) 2 tsp. of apple cider vinegar in water with a little honey (great to gargle for a sore throat!)
5) stay away from red meat, fried foods, and dairy products
they only add to the congestion.

Vodka. Try and permit a few dribble from your mouth onto the sore.As you swig from the bottle. Two matters will occur. There will likely be a cooling end result from the liquid and the alchohol will dehydrate the sore therefore lowering the dimensions and the redness. There will have to even be a best aspect end result. This will have to take the type of a way of total wellbeing, and also you will have to additionally quit stressful approximately the bloodless sore. Try and do that on a friday and by means of monday all will have to be good. By the way in which,I'm now not a truly medical professional.Just passing on individual enjoy. But well success. Doesn't matter, you are going to have that baby for 10 days no matter what you do. Eat when you feel hungry and eat healthy. Hot chicken soup and tea with lemon and a little honey help soothe the throat and the hot vapors from the drink and food helps open up the sinuses and drain them. Warm to hot showers can relieve achy muscles, and frankly just keeping clean kills the germs that build up and make us sick in the first place. Plenty of rest and water. Use aspirin and cold medicines in their proper doses. Rest. Thats about all you can do.

Drink hot tea made from the rind of orange, lemon or tangerine all three mixed together is best. Add fresh squeezed lemon juice and sweeten with honey. It's delicious and works great.
If you want to prevent a cold, take a good antioxidant. I recommend these two:
OPC - http://www.marketamerica.com/PULSE99/index.cfm?action=shopping.uoProduct&storeID=8&prodID=13007
ORAC- http://www.marketamerica.com/PULSE99/index.cfm?action=shopping.uoProduct&storeID=8&prodID=13037
I've not had a cold in almost a year of using these. And it's also gotten rid of my allergies. Prior to discovering these, I used to get two or three colds a year and I had terrible, debilitating allergies.

I NEVER get sick anymore because I take Vit C and Acidophilus with every meal. People can be dropping like flies around me and I have a force field. :)
Now...I had a coworker who had a cold I told her about my items above and she took them every hour for about 5 hours and then backed off to 3 times that afternoon and it killed it!! WHOOP! A low immune system is WHY you get sick...so why not STRENGTHEN it???
GOOD LUCK! :) Hope you feel better soon!

wrap yourself in a warm blanket, put some socks on, drink hot tea with raspberry jam, and hot milk with honey. these two always help me. plus take 20 eucaliptus drops (in a shot of water) 3 times a day, and take vitamin C. you will feel better in 2-3 days. oh and drink lots of fluids, dont smoke or drink alcohol (it lowers you natural immune system reserve), and try to stay inside as much as possible.

zinc and vitamin C are your best friend. i take both as soon as i think i might be getting a cold. haven't had to call off work for three years. however, even if you don't start right away, take them any how because they will shorten the duration of your cold.

Oranges are a good source of vitamin C, which helps your immune system. If your not TOO sick, you can try and excersise, that will help build up your immune system as well. Finally, make sure you get plenty of rest.
