I will be buying a machine from an Indian co. can some advise me how to deal in a local way of bargaining what % do you bargain in Mumbai what is the limit or margin that can you bargain with Indian companies, without killing the deal, I know in India bargaining is a routine so what % you think is acceptable by merchants, any help is greatly appreciated,

It depends from which Company you are buying. Leading companies do not entertain any bargaining and you have to pay the MRP. However, if you are buying the staff from dealers, you can bargain between 10 to 20% discount on the MRP. In case you are purchasing a non-branded item from the dealers or from small shops, you have to ascertain the price of the item and then bargain.

I dont know the best advice i can give is to research a little bit and talk to people that have been in the same situation.
