Alright, now, I know that some of you won't be able to resist calling me an idiot for asking this but here it goes....from time to time when someone scares me, i've been known to shout out a fairly common phrase that goes like this, "JEEZ, you scared the Bajeezas out of me!" I thought about it one day..and you know how it is sometimes you think about a word or phrase too deeply and it makes you wonder, where the heck did that come from? What is a "bajeeza"? Is it just a bit of well known jibberish, or was it from some childrens tale or folk tale or....something? Seriously now, what is a "bajeeza"? Just give me your opinion...or, could there be some facts behind this?...hmm...

Like Homer Simpson said:
"I don't believe in Jebus."

Yeah, I always thought it was "Bejesus"

I think it could be derived from "by Jesus" (you know, how when people are making a declaration and they end it with "by God" or "by Jesus").

But yeah, it's like saying "you scared the heck/crap/snot outta me" but saying "bejesus" instead.

(If you are a person that doesn't "use God's name in vain", you probably wouldn't want to use the word "bejesus", either.)

Perhaps it would make more sense to you if it was spelled -- Be-Jesus?

it's just something people say, like holy cow, or sheesh.
