I dont know of any thing else to tell you to try except washing powders. But I had the same problem about two weeks ago and I had to do something. I went and bought ant killer granules and put them out all along the house and sprayed inside. I also put them under the tub area. this worked. I dont understand why they can come in when I've had a pest control guy out here twice in the last month to spray for spiders (brown recluses).

Boric Acid powder is relatively safe and reliable. It is a natural chemical variation of the element boron.
It will kill most crawling insects. It is often used to kill roaches. It is also used in commercially prepared ant poisons.
The trick is to get the ants to eat it.
Mix it with some sweetened peanut butter and place it where the ants will find it. They love peanut butter. Some ants are attracted to the fat, others to the sugar (depending on the species).
They will take it back to the colony and feed it to the queen. Once she is dead, the colony will leave.
The acid eats holes in the stomachs of the insects and they die.
For roaches, just sprinkle the powder where they like to crawl. It will stick to them and eat holes in their exoskeleton. They then bleed to death.
In small doses, it is harmless to mammals.

Go to like home depot or lowes and look for some type of pesticide. They kill fast. My favorite is RAID. And also, if you have a HUGE problem that just keeps coming back, well, theres this one substance (dont know the name... sorry) that comes in this little container which ants will be lured to eat. The substance is toxic to the ants, and they will bring it back to their lair (or eat it there) and they will die. Many of them will take some back to their home and many ants will eat it and eventually die. It worked for my house.

I agree with Phil and Barkley. I mix Boric acid with honey, and have had great luck. Especially when it comes to carpenter ants. Mix and place in beer bottle caps where ever you see the ants, suggest you position the caps with the mixer where pets cant get to it.

sprinkle baby powder, the cheapest one on the shelf, around the base of the house. Every time it rains, re sprinkle. the ants won't cross the powder.

I sprinkle it on all the window sills too. Since most of the active ingredients in baby powder are talc and corn starch it is all natural and won't have any impact on the soils around your home.
