That's funny...my parents are going through the same thing, only they have been married for 34 years. They live in the same house, but in separate bedrooms, and don't speak to each other unless it's necesary. It's really depressing to know that after so long, they are now strangers. It's like losing your best friend and going at it alone. I feel sad for them, but they choose to stay in that situation.

Why are you putting up with it? If you have been married that long then you should be able to tell him that you two need to talk things out and get over it. We have been married 37 years and there is nothing we can't talk about. We don't always agree but we can and do talk.
