I belive we have reached the technological level to actually build a force field, it has to be possible, perhaps using focused electrical current?if electricity cant do it what possibly can? any studies on it?

i was thinking about this the other day actually

You know when Rutherford did that famous experiment, with the α particles, some of the particles actually bounced back from the nucleus of the atom

What you want is something that will absorb energy and dissipate it. For instance if some shoots a RPG at you, it is going to explode on impact.

That's where you would want to start thinking about it. And a force field is going to be of no use to anyone if the physics involved in its operation it is going to harm the user. I suppose I'm thinking about personal shields.

We don't know how or why the universe was created. Just because we don't know doesn't mean it's necessarily God. I'm guessing that you're a christian (I've got nothing against that). But if someone built the universe why does it have so many flaws like natural disasters? If God was loving why would he do that? Although the chances are minute couldn't it just have been chance? Atoms were formed by the big bang. It could just be chance that Earth was made to be this complex. After all there are billions of planets.

Hmm... that's a good one. I guess if you wanted to build a defensive type shield like a barricade, you could probably use plasma contained by an Electric-magnetic field. That might work and i believe we do have the technology to do something like this.

Why does it *have* to be possible? In general, what sort of event has to occur to cause you to believe something?
