Go crazy moshing or crowdsurfing, or do you stand in the back or off to the side and actually watch the show?

I watch for those people and use the empty spots to move to the front of the stage.

It depends on who I am watching and where the concert is at. I had pit tickets for Breaking Benjamin and 3 Days Grace. I jumped around a little bit, but I mostly kept my eyes on the band members because I had never seen them perform live before. When we are at a night club watching a local heavy metal show with my favorite local bands, I usually have a few drinks and mosh and pretty well act a fool....but only to show support for the guys I love! lol

It's a judgment call. If I feel the urge to mosh and lose it a little, I'll know if I'm physically up to it. Ive been in various pits across the past 20+ years and that's my best guideline. On other occasions, I'm just as happy to have a beer and enjoy from a little further back.

Depends who's playing. If I'm at a Soulfly show, eff yeah i'm close to the middle.
But being that I'm short, if I want to actually WATCH the performers too, I try to go off to the side so I can see

i like to actually watch the show im older now and with concert prices so high i tend to see bands at smaller concerts so i can enjoy the music

I don't go to shows that involve moshing, if you have to focus on beating the crap out of each other then obviously the music isn't that good.
I'm the guy that stands by the stage watching the guitar player's or bass player's hands.

I am a watcher....I don't find any point in being in a pit and instead of watching the band, running around in little circles and looking out for everybody around me so I don't get stomped on. (sorry moshers)

I'm in the front headbanging, eventually this hot dude will pull me on stage and i'll jump into the crowd! Then I mosh some. I'm going to one this saturday dude, ROCK ON! \m/

In ancient times I would get in line at 4am to be in the front.
Now I'll sit on the lawn with a bucket of KFC and binoculars.

I hung out at the radio stations bar by the backstage door and met one of the guys from Three Days Grace....I didn't even know who he was until I saw him on stage!
