its good for all the family even my mother in law to be plays it.
especially the sports but you need an extra remote and nunchuk so you can box against each other and some of the others. but bowling and tennis you only need the extra remote to play against each other.
They do good 1 player games as well

Definitely worth the money (make sure you get extra remotes. I would recommend buying Wii play as you get a remote and a game; then I'd buy 2 more remotes and 1 extra nunchuck)
My Husband and I bought one (we actually made enough money by selling our gamecube, one of our DS's and loads of games) and everyone we know likes to play it. We have 9 nieces and nephews ranging from 4 to 20s and they are all always asking when they can come round to play or if we can take it to them.
Also we regularly have friends round at the weekend and we all enjoy playing. My parents and parent in laws also enjoy playin and my mother in law has asked to borrow the console before.
We had a group of Italian teenagers playing it too and they were hooked.
My sister in law loved it so much that she's made her husband by them one!

The game most people like is Wii sports (mainly tennis!) which is free but they also love Rayman: Raving Rabbids, Trauma centre and the younger kids adored wario-ware. The older people liked brain training quite a lot and my husband and I loved Zelda and resident evil 4 but they are both 1 player games (RE4 is defiinitely not for the kids but Zelda is fine.)

It is enjoyable, but I think that you should wait it out. At least wait until there are more games that your family would enjoy. I would talk to your family and ask if there are any games other than wii sports that they would want to play. If there aren't any, then you need to wait until it either drops in price (could take a LONG time) or wait until more games come out. Wii Sports alone is not worth $250. But Wii Sports along with other games, such as Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy (comes out in November) and Super Smash Bros. Brawl (comes out in December) make it worthwhile.

I like wii alot and the maxinum is 4 player so all 3 of your kids can play unless its one of those storyline games the zelda that only has 1 player but has more then one saving file and when u buy wii it comes with wii sports don't think that wii sport stinks because its free, its very good

For 250 bucks, u get a lot. The system, controller, a free game, and a few extras like the Mii Channel (make ur own characters), Photo Channel (u gotta have an sd card), and a few others. And some good kid games are already out like Mario Pary 8, Warioware, ect. so yea, id suggest buying it.

well, to solve the confusion, the Wii is actually a system for $250 that uses games (around $40-60 each), but yes, it is worth your money, anyone can pick it up and people who are already experts with games can get into it anyway

however, you may want to research the 360, the PS3, and the wii and compare before you make a definitive choice

My parents just bought it for us (I'm the oldest, ages go from 16 to 9 to 6 to 4) and we've all had fun with it. The Sports pack comes with tennis, baseball, bowling, boxing, etc. and is a really good starter game! It's fantastic, as long as you take care of it. It'd be a great Christmas/birthday gift! :D

i'm 18 and i LOVE my Wii

it's seriously amazing

and it's the cheapest thing you could get (provided you can actually find one); when it was FIRST released, it was only $200... unlike the PS3, which was $600 when it was first released... and the Xbox 360... there were crimes committed where i live just because people wanted one so badly

so yea, get the Wii, again, if you can find one (they're hard to come by nowadays)

i'd say go for it. maybe let your kids pitch in a little. or ask, "if you really want this, i want you to use it. because money does not grow on trees." or, i personally think pitching in is best.if you want to get them something special, or espspecially ifd they want it, they should pitch in. or wait til a birthday or Christmas. just some ideas. Good luck!!
