The media is preoccupied by the typical light-haired cute white female who is missing. Like who wants to hear about a bunch of white kids who have a case of superiority complex and a bunch of black kids being mistreated and heavily punished by the law?

To answer your question, it would require the media to get a conscience and talk about something other than Shitney Spears. To"Copwife": Get what they deserve??? Are you serious? I see you decided not to bother with the facts before you posted your ignorant comment. FYI-The NAACP and other black groups have gone down to Jena and have been there since the beginning. This case is about a fight between a GROUP of black students and a GROUP of white students. While the white students involved received only a slap on the wrist, the black students are looking at serious jail time. No one, is saying the black students shouldn't be punished, but if the white students didn't receive jail time, then neither should the black students. You said your husband sees "garbage like this all the time?" What? Blatant racism?? Not only by the criminal justice system, but by the media? And this thing didn't even start with the students taunting them. What kicked off this whole thing was a tree! Ironically, what the students called the "Tree of Knowledge" which the white kids could sit under, and the black kids could not. When they did (silly them, thinking its a free country and all), they get the crap kicked out of them.

I think it's because it really calls into the question the fairness of the justice system. The Jena 6 aren't new. It happens all the time where minorities get much stiffer penalties for committing the same crimes as someone who is white. For the media as a whole to really cover this, that would begin to shed a lot of light on the so called "legal system."

Because hopefully they all get what they deserve. If a bunch of white kids had beaten up a black kid, I guarantee you the NAACP and every other black person on the planet would be calling for harsh penalties. But since it's a bunch of black kids that did it to a white kid, we're all supposed to turn our heads? I don't think so. I don't care if the white kids tried to "taunt" them earlier in the week. Pranks and taunts are completely different from actually physically hurting someone.

My husband is a cop. He sees this garbage all the time.

you asked.

because they found out that six black kids attacked one white kid and beat him until he was no longer moving. six black (or more) formed a human barrier and did not allow anyone to assist this kid. violence will not be allowed!
