ghapy is right, you arent very knowledgeable and like i have said to hundreds of fishkeepers like you.
Dont get piranahas, if you dont know their names, water conditions etc... your not ready.
Piranhas can poteintally harm you or someone else.. So they are not for beginners.
THERE is a difference from a fish expert to have piranhas and some beginner waking up and saying " Hey i want a cool fish that i can show off. Let me get a piranha"
they will get large and you need at least 75 gallons but they will need a 180 at least for adults. They are schooling so you will need a group. But then again, SHOULD you get one? No.
Legal issues, do you have a permit? then no you shouldnt' and cant get one.
They will reach over a foot long and need a massive tank.
They will eat dry fish foods along with frozen.
Again.... you dont even know enough to even consider getting a piranha or most fish in general. Please research...Become an experienced fishkeeper before you want to set up to the big leagues.
please see this other thread from a few days ago about getting piranhas. You are similar to him. Know nothing about fish/piranhas and are trying to be implusive and rush into buying one.

edit: Dude it takes months to years not weeks. If you dont know anything now, then you still need more research, piranhas are one of the well known fishes and you dontknow how to spell it or saltwater or freshwater. This is piranha 101, so you havent been researching. If you have. check your sources, they are not for you.
Trust me as i have red bellies, they are boring and not like movies or active.

I'll be honest - if you don't even know whether they are fresh or salt water, you had best get yourself a good book, because you are starting with absolutely nothing, and there is no way you'll find everything you need to know in a yahoo post. Here's a rundown so you can decide if they're for you:
They are called Piranhas.
They are freshwater tropicals, from planted environments. The tank should be decorated in kind.
They are schooling fish, and while a single specimen will suvive, you'll have a very boring solitary fish living a dull and unnatural existence. The proper way to keep them is in groups of 6 or more.
For a small school of them, you should have a big tank - 75 gallons at least, and more ideally over 100 gallons. They need the same things any fish needs - tank, filter, heater, appropriate decoration, staple pellet or flake food, suppliments of fresh (live or frozen) foods, and an owner who has done the proper research on them.

Be careful there are some states that dont allow people to keep piranhnas as pets. You have to research first if your state will allow it... You also HAVE to get a permit to keep one. Showing that you have the right things needed to take care of it. You also need more than 1 of them to be happy. Try looking on youtube at pet piranhna videos. You could just do a regular freshwater tank ya know..:] good luck

Get a book. Learn to spell. Listen to good advice. Don't try to keep a fish you know nothing at all about. Piranhas are not good aquarium fish and people like you are the ones that get bored with them and release them into the wild, giving responsible fish keepers a bad name. Study them first. Learn how to keep easy-to-care-for fish alive before you try something challenging,(like learning the Latin names of your fish). I don't think either of the other two replies were harsh.
