To make our world more safer for our kids do you think the govt should pass a law that...every time a child abuser re-offends after castration that they should have a finger amputed (proffessionally..... unfortunately! ) and then we would know when the Govt puts a Re-habilited offender into our neighbourhood that we can take action to keep our kids safe. Because from were im sitting these SCUM! of the earth are not getting the message that our kids are our world and we will take action to protect them

No!

They should be tied to a tree and caught on fire one limb at a time. Then they should burn in hell!

I can't remember where I read an interesting article regarding chemical castration ( if I remember I'll be back with a link ) but the men who had taken advantage of the pilot scheme in Canada proclaimed it had changed their lives, for the better. They felt more able to control their demons. But that in itself is the crux of castration by pills, they have to want to change if they don't. Neither chemical or surgical castration will make any difference. In fact it could lead to a change in paedophiles nature as they seek out more apt ( yuk I hate to think about it ) approach to reach their goal. So do I think it's a good idea? Yes. Made compulsory? No. Forcing them to comply will tire an already straining under the weight of criminals human rights. Voluntary? Yes. A better idea than doing nothing & expecting the paedophile to control themselves, some don't, some can't & some don't want to. It's changing the mind-set of a habitual, predatory pervert is where the real challenges are. Crack those nuts & I think everyone would feel a lot happier. Or better still lock them all up & throw away the key. Some pervs cannot be cured. Wasting time, money & effort into another one-size-fits all treatment which may or may not fail. Is it worth the risk? Might be less cost affective but to ensure the safety of children, lock them up for life.

First of all, not all pedophiles are male.

Second, castration has nothing to do with a person's ego or libido, and, thus, won't make them any less a pedophile, so castration is pointless (no pun intended).

Third, not all pedophiles rely on their genitalia to commit their heinous crimes, so, again, castration is pointless.

Fourth, there have been many cases where people have been incarcerated due to "irrefutable" evidence, only to be released when that evidence turned out to be invalid. How would you restore or reimburse that person?

Fifth, who would pay for the surgery and recovery?

I empathize with you, but, there is no place on this planet that has found the "perfect" way to deal with any kind of criminal, and it would be specious to offer any such solutions, especially in this forum.

No, they should not be castrated, they should be shot.

I do not mean that flippantly, I am deadly serious.

Why do 'we' insist on keeping thses scumbags alive?? I just cannot understand it.

Get rid of them!

How many times have we seen peadophiles offend, be realeased from prison, then re offend, and sometimes even kill.

If Sarah Paynes killer had been shot the first time he offended, that poor little girl would be a teenager now, enjoying life to the full , as she should be.

Peadophiles, whatever the offence (there is no such thing as 'minor offence' when you are talking about children), should be simply disposed of. Get rid of them. That will make the world a safer place. Oh, and any 'do-gooders' who think peadophiles should be given a second chance....shoot them as well.

PS: Apparently, Castration would not work on them (at least, not on all of them), as there is something wrong with their brain. They are sick, twisted individuals, and whether they have their b*llocks chopped off or not, they would still offend.

(Although that could be used as a method to kill them, chop them off and let them bleed to death) :)

Just my opinion, but you did ask the question...

I truly believe all convicted (with good solid evidence) murderers, rapists, paedophiles, kidnappers, and drug dealers (talking big time, not a couple of joints) should be killed. Quickly - no long drawn out re-trials etc. Instead of spending tax-payers money to live in prison for years (with television, books, connjugal visits, exercise rooms, free University education etc) and then get out, not only more anti-social than before but full of new nasty tricks learned from other scums-of-the-earth in prison.

I know many of you won't agreee with me, but I've lived for long periods in countries with what we consider draconian laws and I have never felt so safe. We walked all over the city at all times of the day and night, never bothered. Actually chased several blocks because we'd left a small change purse on street and they wanted to return it.

With your method (no, I'm not poking fun!) we'd have any number of criminal folks who would claim farm equipment accidents. Or folks who actually did have a finger ripped off in a machinery accident going around in gloves year-round.

How about a large scarlet C (for criminal) tattooed on their foreheads?

I heard of a prison officer who had to release a paedophile, the paedo said to keep his cell open as he would be back soon....

Put them on an Island and let them support themselves. No computers tvs and no contact with the outside world. Let them police themselves and just have cctv to make sure they are not attempting to make a boat or leave the Island. I have thought about this many times but know that the do-gooders of the world will never let it happen.

peadophiles cant be stopped by castration. its not just a sexual preference, its a complete!! preference. there is a lot of difference between an actual paedophile and a guy who gets the hots for a flirty little 14 year old whos giving him the come on and untill people stop the witch hunt and start to get some classification going between the two! then your going to continue with this 'one sise fits all law that places the realy dangerouse ones back on our streets hiding among the sad lollita fanciers. actual paedophiles need to be locked up securely for the rest of their lives. they cannot be cured and will allways be an unexeptable threat to children. i would personaly say yes to the idea of marking them for the safety of children. but there is an army of self serving "expert" (scuse me while i larf) do gooders out there who make good money and build good carrers out of protecting these monsters. so i wouldnt hold your breath. it will be againced their human rights.

A pedophile can never be rehabilatated. They should all be put in a special prison for only themselves and never again see the lite of day. Castration is not really going to stop the problem, maybe a lobeotomy would do much better, Than they can go home to their relatives and be a vegetable.

Castration does not work, it is in the mind that these individuals are sick - the government are too soft also to amputate anyone's finger or indeed any digit! Nice idea but the UK government are far too lenient.

If the government cared then Sarah's law would be up & running - hmmmm?

No, castration is barbaric and has no place in the 21st century. Women generally don't understand this but castrating a man is equivalent to amputating a woman's ****. (stit in reverse)

PS - Don't confuse paedophiles - which is an illness of perversion - with murderers. The two are quite separate things, two separate comditions

Castration does not work [unless its done with two house bricks] my cats been done it don't stop him wanting to use it. Until one moves in next door to Tony Blair or Gordon Brown the government will not do anything
