i live in a mostly black and spanish town. their's like 4 white kids. i'm not sure if either of them are jewish. why do we have school off if their's only a maximum of 4 jewish kids

When I was a kid I would be happy to get a day off school. Don't complain, just thank your Jewish friends for giving you a get out of school pass.

Because even if there's only one Jewish boy in your school, it won't be fair for him to come to school when he's celebrating a holiday....
Just as that boy will have vication on christmass, you'll have vication on Rosh Hashana.
And you know, it doesn't matter if most of your neighbores are black or spanish.. there are also black, asian, europian, spanish (or whatever) jews. That's what so special about us..
We're scattered all over the world.
You can take the apportunity and learn something about the holiday, and maybe descover NEW things about your neighbores...

Jewish kids in public schools get off for Christmas and Easter. just be happy to get a day off. good question, though.

Actually, some of the black and spanish kids might be Jewish. Not all Jews are white.

because that is the holiday the school system gave. just be happy you have a day off to do your homework/projects/reading you have been putting off.
