Let

x = first integer

x + 1 = second integer

x + 2 = Third integer

153 = total integers

The equation

x + x + 1 + x + 2 = 153

3x + 3 = 153

Transpose 3

3x + 3 - 3 = 153 - 3

collect like terms

3x = 150

Divide both sides of the equation by 3

3x / 3 = 150 / 3

x = 15- / 3

x = 50

The first integer is 50

Second integer is

x + 1

5 + 1 = 51

- - - - - -

Third integer is

x + 2

50 + 2 = 52

The integers are 50, 51, and 52

50 + 51 + 52 = 153

Let n be the smallest integer
then (n+1) and (n+2) are the next two consecutive integers

So the equation is
n+(n+1)+(n+2) = 153

Solve
3n + 3 = 153
3n = 150
n = 50

so the three number is 50,51,and 52

Divide 153 by 3 (since you need 3 numbers)
=51 (That will be your middle number)
Now just go a number up, and down.

x=value of 1st integer
x+1 = value of 2nd integer
x+2 = value of 3rd interger

subtract 3 from both sides

3x = 150

x=50
