I'd go with Fife. I long to live in Mayberry, where every little thing isn't a major crime and people are basicly good. He still needs to carry his bullet in his pocket though, so he doesn't do something stupid. Everyone needs review!

Gilligan would make so many mistakes like he did on the show.
He couldn't get the castaways off the island, can he get us out of the middle east?
I am voting for Barney Fife cuz he was a deputy law enforcer in Mayberry, NC.
He would make the whole US just like the Triangle area. A great place to live with low crime.

It would depend on their running mate, and what sort of a cabinet they're willing to appoint. If Barney Fife were willing to appoint Andy Taylor and Aunt Bea into a position where they could council him, he might be a slightly better solution than Gilligan, who would appoint people like Thurston Howell and the Skipper.
I mean, Barney DID catch criminals now and then, despite himself. Gilligan never did seem to get them off that island....

My kinda question! Grandpa died last year, or the year before. But there is no way I'm voting for Gilligan! At least candidate Fife, can cite a Bible passage, when necessary!

I would vote for Barney cuz I know my parents would.
We live in the Raleigh area and a lot of people here worship the Andy Griffith Show.
Barney was a deputy law enforcer and he will rapidly decrease the crime rates in America's cities making them all seem like Raleigh.
Everyone you mentioned is dead though.
Don Knotts, Al Lewis, Bob Denver are all dead.

definately Gilligan. while being an idiot, he still had his heart in the right place and was always trying to help others.
Barney on the other hand may have meant well, but he was to busy judging others and jumping to the wrong conclussions. He was always trying to micromanage everything.
Oh and what if Gilligan had the professor and mary ann for cabinet members?
