those signs that say "In case of fire do not use elevator"? Wouldn't most people try to use water rather than an elevator???????????

Because most people would be more concerned about getting out in one piece than try to escape, and they probably say do not use elevator in case it fails and they cant get out so they do that to cover themselves in case anything did happen.

lol have never tried to put a fire out with an elevator but would imagine it would be dead hard thing to do water every time

well in case you don't know it means not to use an elevator during a fire breakout as the cables could snap and you will fall to your death
I know you know that but isn't fun to lecture people?

Good point.. also why do they use "Escalator Out" signs in dept. stores instead, of "Escalator,temporarily Stairs"
