The world as a whole? Well our world which is earth will cease to exist once the sun has burned out all its fuel until its the size of earth and no longer the source of light in our solar system. Scientists have calculated the life of the sun based on the amount of fuel it burns. The end of both the sun and life on earth will happen in 3 billion years. That will give the human society enough time to migrate to another planet.

if that doesnt happen theres aways the collision of the milk way and andromeda galaxy that will take place in about 3 billion years, which will cause the solar system to either:

get flung into the center of one of the 2, get hit by another star, get flung off of the galaxy or...!!...nothing...

and then theres always the sun swelling and roasting earth in 4.5 billion years.

and then! theres always the big rip, the big freeze, the big crunch, heat death, or my favorite, the Vacuum metastability event. all of which are possibilities on how the whole universe will end.

so in 4.5 billion years at the most life on earth will end. thats not debatable, its fact.
