How most ppl only consider light-skinned Black women as beautiful as opposed to darker ones. I mean, look at the popular ,sex-symbol,Black women in the media: Christina Milian,Beyonce,Halle Berry,Tyra Banks...ALL LIGHT SKINNED! I am a light-skinned Black female, but I can only imagine how darker skinned Black females feel:S

I know PLENTY of GORGEOUS dark-skinned black women. They are just as lovely as a light-skinned woman. I think dark brown skin is BEAUTIFUL! =)

Which "people" only consider light-skinned black women "beautiful"? Who are these "people" who are making this decision? Aside from Tyra Banks, most of the really famous black models have all had darker skin (Beverly Johnson, Iman, Grace Jones, Karen Alexander, Naomi Campell, Beverly Peale, Alek Wek). Skin tone hasn't really been an issue among black women since the 80's. People need to just let it go.
I'm the only fuzzy little brown spot in a very fair-skinned family, and I have always been VERY happy with how I look. And I don't think I have ever encountered any other darker-skinned women who have wished that they were lighter. So if you think that some of us feel ugly or put down somehow, then no, I seriously doubt that you can imagine how we darker-skinned Black females feel.

I KNOW! My older sister said the same thing. Personally, idc if ur light skinned or dark skinned, I still love me some caramel or special dark chocolate!

Are you saying "Indiana" reservation or "Indian" reservation? When you say indian I'd suspect it was on an indian reservation. You didn't say if your mother is living or not but you could ask her. Indians have a verbal history rather than a written one. There were lots of indians around years ago, still have many tribes.

i know what you mean. there are a couple of darker skinned black models, like alek welk (i think) but they are very rare.

i personally believe that having light skin does contribute to beauty. Maybe that's why. No racism/ignorance intended and i'm not white so please don't think that.
