Well i'm sorry but this question seems to be rather stupendous.
Anyone who thinks the attacks were "perpetuated by the government" should in my opinion stand back and seriously ask themselves. For what benefit or reason would the government have for comitting such a crime!!
I am not blaming you for asking this question here, but sometimes it makes me wonder where people develop these dull theories from. But i do understand that this view of the attacks being "perpetuated by the g'ment" is now fast becoming a popular (but stupid) mis-conception.
But in answer to your question NO i do not think there was any government involvement in this act of sheer disgrace.

I know that the US government started the Spanish American War a hundred years ago. A US Naval ship was blown up by the US government and blamed on spanish saboteurs - they would not have dared do that because they saw the fate of the mexicans in the mexican american war. COME ON! the US nearly experienced an economical recession due to the lack of tourism and investment caused by 9/11. The number of people it would've taken to pull off the greatest mass murder in US history could've filled one of the Towers. In the Watergate and Enron cases, there were only a handful who knew about it, but both leaked like sieves. In the 9/11 attacks, how could so many people be quiet...also, its laughable that the government could be considered so competent as to pull it off. Look at their response to Katrina.
