If you have the motor torn down that far you should change it anyway.

if you are referring to the crank bearings, I would go ahead and put a piston kit in the bike if one hasn't been put in it recently... a piston kit typically is not all that expensive in comparison to the labor involved / cost of parts for a bottom end rebuild...

It really all depends , but if its in a shop and they are saying it also needs rings and such , go for it since its already torn down ,it basically boils down to measurement and since I have no idea what shape your bike is in there is no real yes or no answer anyone could give.
