Call your doctor. It could be "back labor," which means the baby is turned around.

When you lose your mucus plug, it may be a little or a lot of gel like material. It will may be in a glob, stringy or just wetness. The mucus plug is clear to yellow-brownish in color, but may also be pinkish.
Losing your mucus plug does not necessarily mean you are in labor. This can occur up to two weeks before labor begins. This can also occur right as labor is beginning. You will have to wait and see if you have any other signs of labor. Such as your water breaks or you begin to have contractions.
If you are worried, ring the hospital maternity unit, where you will be having your baby.

i,ve had a labour that started like this i had baby around 12 hours later.if your at all worried call your midwife she,ll just put your mind at ease and give you advice.good luck with the birth and congratulations in advance for your new arrival.ps don,t start getting all worked up and stressed about the back pains a lot of women go through there labour with the pains in there back it doesn,t have to mean baby has turned.i always wait until contractions have started and are about half hour apart before i go in hospital(i,ve had 4 kids),but if waters break go straight away, unless you live miles away give yourself more time .give the midwife a call just so she knows whats going on and that you could be going in tonight.

Yep definitely sounds like you're labour has started!!
You don't have to go to hospital until you want to though. You might find your more relaxed at home for a bit - have a walk about for a bit, have something to eat to get your strength up for later or perhaps have a warm bath or even a little sleep!!
Good luck - hope it goes well, you'll soon see your beautiful baby

Good news you are in labor..
the bad news you still have a fair ways to go i would make sure you are all packed for the hospital, call your Doctor, go for a long walk, eat a good meal (once you get to the hospital they wont let you eat any more) have a bath and try to relax.
Good luck it won't be long now

No one can tell you how long. It would be a good idea to get your bag ready, list of phone numbers etc, make sure your birth partner is aware and knows what to do and try and get some sleep. Your baby will come soon and you will know when its on its way. (might be good to have waterproof sheet on bed!)
If you cant sleep try listening to whatever music you want.
Either rest, read, watch tv.
Or get busy and move around, dance etc.
Go with whatever feels right for you.
Good luck.

This sounds good for you. I had back labor also. Does it come in waves or constant. If it is constant you need to call the hospital and see if you should go in. If it is waves you should start timing them so you can let the Dr. know. Good luck!!

ooo! how exciting! baby is a comin!!! sounds like pre labour, i had a plug every day for 3 days, i always thought that you only have one plug but apparently you keep making it! however i did not have the pains with it. i got them a few days later. sounds like a back to back pre labour and your body is trying to turn the baby so it can go into proper labour. if baby is back to back ( like mine was) i thoroughly recommend an epidural, don't feel like you have to be a martyr!
good luck and congratulations!
