The term you are talking about is called rearing. They generally do it when they are scared or do not like something and refuse to do it.
When a horse rears, you should get out of the way a.s.a.p, because if you get too close, you might get hurt.
If you are on the horse at the time, make sure you DO NOT pull back, and I am stressing on the do not. I once saw a girl pull back and horse fell on her. She ended up with a broken arm, leg, collarbone, ect.
Anyway, if you are on the horse, lean foward and push down. Let the horse go back down and then make it stand still. If it keeps rearing, jump off when he or she is down.

Called a rear - quite fun to sit to but just have to make sure all your weight is forward so that the horse doesnt fall over backwards!

REAR - rhyming with DEAR

Hopefully your horse doesnt do this on you. It's a very bad habit. Horses rear when they feel trapped. Unless your a part of the "dancing horses team" and all the horses rear on command.

It's called rearing. My horse reared with me when he was 2 and fell backward on me. It's not a good thing for your horse to do.

alrighty......its called rearing up and i a very bad habit that several horses have. you've heard the saying if you fall off your horse get back up? you really need to. because if your horse rears or bucks you off and you don't get back on then he just realized that thats all he needs to do to not have to work anymore
