I disagree with your premise. I have done some traveling and have always been treated courteously by the people I have met and there has never been any indication, generally, of hatred toward Americans.........

I have found that people are people no matter where they are from. Only closed minded elitists would believe otherwise............

most people do not hate americans, they hate the image of an America that has been characterized by forcing total control of other countries and people's intelectual, social, cultural and most importantly economic resources; without any care to the true development of disadvantaged nations. The divide is so great that it will take years of public relations campaings to repair it, At an individual level, americans are regarded as lazy, mediocre, or the gluttons of the world...

Because America always does what is in its "best interests" without regard for the rest of the world.
Because America is a war-mongering bully that attacks other sovereign nations that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States.
Because the United States has killed 675,000 Iraqis and 3,800 U.S. soldiers all for the sake of OIL and WAR PROFITEERING, and is trying to get the new Iraqi puppet government to pass a law turning ownership of 2/3rds of its oil resources over to 'big oil' corporations.*

Because of the American attitude. I am Canadian and know people from all over Canada, Europe, Australia, and the US. The first 3 never give me problems however most Americans are extremely rude.

In most countries it is easy to pass the blame for problems to the government. In the US The people are playing a large role in it. Bush can not be blamed for all of it.

because we think we own the world, because we use 25% of the worlds resources but are only 5% of the world pop., because we're crude, poorly educated, obnoxious, and think the world should follow our example, our culture, our style......take a trip somewhere outside the US, outside of tourist areas and ask the people you meet. The US elem and secondary schools are poor by the standards of other developed countries......so if we fixed that, got a better education and acted more civilized maybe they wouldn't. AND that swaggering moronic cowboy in the White House makes us the laughing stock of the world.....I was out of the country last spring, and people think he's such a clown!

It's Republicans who hate Americans. They scream about patriotism but refuse to serve in the military, scream about Commies and traitors to anyone who disagrees with them, scream about how only Republicans know how to secure the borders in this country but still haven't done it, practically BEGGING for another attack on US Soil so they can say, SEE WHAT THE DEMOCRATS DID TO YOU?, scream about how wrong being homosexual is, all the while sending dirty emails to underage male pages, raping pre-teen females, all the while screaming about FAMILY VALUES, screaming about Abortion is Murder but from 2000 to 2006, the only thing the Republican majority in Washington did was borrow money from China to give to Iraq and take bribes, doing nothing to curb or abolish abortion in this country, scream about how Dems are soft on crime when aVermont judge (a REPUBLICAN Vermont judge) sentenced a convicted pedophile to 27 days in jail, due to a narrowminded interpretation of the rape statutes in Vermont, scream about gay marriage being against God's plan, but again, when in charge, they did nothing to affirm this int he Constitution, scream about how Dems are "Tax and Spend", when the Republican President took a Budget SURPLUS and turned it into a $9 Trillion USD debt, your grandkids will be paying off. President Bush, why didn't you just SELL US TO CHINA OUTRIGHT?

Most people do not hate Americans. Travel abroad and people will greet you with open arms. They may disagree with things our government does but most really appreciate the US.
