Parting
by Emily Dickinson

MY LIFE closed twice before its close;
It yet remains to see
If Immortality unveil
A third event to me

So huge, so hopeless to conceive,
As these that twice befell.
Parting is all we know of heaven,
And all we need of hell.

in Detail please!

it seems a bit morbit but at the same time it does hold a certian uncanny truth. i think to some extent everyone can relate to this poem because i think at some point we do feel a bit hopeless or unsure about the outcome of a serious or big event. Its a bit dramatic though...

Good to see you, tater! It is a sad poem, my life is too, sad. I can relate to pain, and being a musician, I can appreciate sad, yet beautiful poems, as well. Nice poem!
