difference and less than means subtraction
quotient means division
is means equals

1. x - 3 != 6 (I used != for not equals)
2. x/10 = 5
3. 3x - 2 <= 11
4. 4x = 24 (all sides of a square are equal)

1.)The difference between a number and 3 is not 6.
Let x = the number. Then x-3 not equal 6. This means that x could not be 9.

2.)The quotient of a number and 10 is 5.
Quotient is answer you get when you divide two numbers. So quotient of 50/10 = 5.

3.)2 less than 3 times a number is less than or equal to 11.
Let x = number. Then 3x-2 <= 11.

4.)The perimeter of a square is 24 cm.Find the length of one side. A square has 4 equal sides. The perimeter is the sum of the 4 sides. So each side = 24/4 = 6 cm.

1. the number is any number but the number 9
2. 2 or 50
3. 4, 3, 2, 1
4. 24/4 = 6

1. the difference would be ?-3 does not equal 6, so the number cannot be 9.
2. quotient is the end result of division. so the problem would be either 50 / 10 =5 or 10 / 2 = 5
3. 11 plus 2 would be 13 so, 3 times 4 equals 12 which would end up being 10 which is less than 11. it could also be the numbers 3,2,1, which will all lead to that answer correctly.
4. the perimeter of a square would be the total of all four sides. so if the total perimeter of a SQUARE is 24, divide by 4 and get 6 to achieve the length of ANY side.

1) x - 3 does not equal 6

2) x/10 = 5

3) 3x-2 ≤ 11

4) 4s = p
4s = 24
s = 6

(x - 3) not = 6, so x not = 9
x/10 = 5, x = 50
3x - 2 <=11, and 3x <= 13, so x <= 13/3
4s = 24, so s = 6
