I think you are talking about when teachers require you to answer a question in "sentence format." By this, they mean to answer in complete sentences rather than in words or fragments.

For example, suppose the question is, "Who discovered America?" If you just said "Columbus," that's not sentence format. In sentence format, you'd say, "Columbus discovered America."

The previous are right if a question is needed to be answered in sentence format but if you are asking what is formatting or diagraming a sentence then this site can explain it better.

well if your teacher says that then it meanse just write the answer in a complete sentece

question who is Chrlie?

Answer charlie is a boy in the book charlie and the Chocolate factory, he finds the golden ticket.
