Get another EVGA e-GeForce 8800 Ultra and go for sli.
The X2900XT does have better specs, but it's a dissapointment compared to 8800 Ultra.
and buy the Intel Core 2 Duo E4500, the x2 6000+ is slower.

If you already have an OC ultra get another and go SLI. Two 1GB 2900s just set the world record in 3Dmark 2006 in a crossfire setup. The ATI card already tops the GTX in benchmarks and is expected to dust the Ultra as soon as good drivers come out. You need a 750watt PSU with massive +12V rails just to drive one thou. You wont get the performance out of one 2900 that you will with 2 Ultras-not even close.

I would suspect if you compared the stats; you'd be much better off with the SLI linked 8800 GTX Ultras...
what exactly are you running that you need 2 SLI linked 8800 GTX Ultras ? each one of those is more expensive than the rest of the computer you listed...

I had such an awful experience with ATI's support/customer service, I will never buy an ATI product again.
I bought the card, and installed it, and it came up with a prompt recommending I go to the ATI site and download the upgrade appropriate for my system. I did that. It locked up my computer completely, and I had to use the system recovery disks to get it to start up where I could delete all ATI files, and reinstall it. I spent numerous hours on the phone to their support people to try to resolve the problem, and never could get a human being on the phone.
I sent several emails that went unanswered.
After three weeks of trying to get something done, I just took it back to the store, and simply won't ever try them again.

Nice Machine!...What games are you wanting to run? or are you a developer? In my experience ATI has proved more reliable than Nvidia. I cant answer your question since its detailed answers regarding specs. But I commend you for the wonderful piece of machinery.

I can't really tell you which way to go.. but I can vouch for Nvidia being a decent card... I used to do a lot of online gaming (DAOC) and always used Nvidia cards... the only time I ever had a lag problem was if I ran two accounts.
