How do you American Women feel about American men outsourcing marriage, that is not marrying YOU?

A lot of American men identify many advantages with not marrying an American woman. Although they may not be completley correct. More and more men are marrying outside of the United States.

I lived in Mexico for a long time and I married a Mexican woman (that I met in Mexico), so maybe I can help. I think it depends a lot on what part of Mexico they are from. Just like how Southern American guys (and gals) are more traditional and conservative, Mexican guys that come from the Mexican boonies will be more close-minded and way more Macho than someone from a big city. From a Mexican guys perspective, I don't think there is any beef being with an American girl. On the contrary, a lot of them think they've struck gold. Same with the Mexican girls liking American guys. When you're 1 in 12 Million with Green Eyes your chances go way up :P But seriously a lot of Mexicans Men do have the very traditional Male-Dominance thing going on, which is not necessarily bad but they take it to a different extreme than most Americans do and that could cause you some serious issues if you don't know the guy too well. Lots of Mexicans think that Americans are crazy liberal and Mexicans are also way paranoid when it comes to cheating, so expect trust issues to be a real problem. For instance my Mexican wife is always so shocked that I don't freak out if she talks to another guy or even if she has guy friends. She says a Mexican man would never go for that. So the impression I have is that the majority of Mexican men are very controlling and super crazy jealous. But hey, whatever floats your boat!

I have known personally 3 men who have gotten "mail-order brides" or "internet brides" from foreign countries through a matchmaking service. Two were in the Philippines and one was in Russia.

These services require the men to have a certain minimum income, pay a fee (sometimes recurring monthly) to the service, give money to the girls they choose to "date" and then pay for all expenses for the lady to come to the U.S. In the cases of the two Filipina ladies, the gentlemen had to continue to pay the families of their new brides for a period of time after the weddings.

In all the cases, the gentlemen in question were attracted to very beautiful women who would not give them the time of day here in the U.S. Basically they were 5's looking for 10's. There are some guys that can't get an American hottie, no matter how much money they have. It's better for all parties if they take themselves off the market with a lady from overseas.

By the way, in the three cases? Only one couple is still together. One couple never got married at all - she broke it off with the guy after he spent nearly $20,000 in fees, tickets back and forth from her home country and a wedding ring. The third couple split up after only 2 years of marriage and he is supporting her new life here in the states via alimony. But, those are the risks you assume, right?

Not being American, I wouldn't know if I'd care. My bf is American-Italian, and I am originally from Russia.
However, I agree with the person above me that a lot of the American guys who marry non-American women aren't attractive or particularly interesting. I work in a Japanese company and pretty much every Asian woman in our 300-person office is married to an American for a greencard. And their husbands were just desperate to marry someone. I think a lot of American guys have Asian fetishes, because they think their wives will be more obedient than American women. Wrong!

The answer is really very simple. Let them marry anyone they want. In the reality of it these men are typically control freaks and weirdos that cannot relate to the independent personality of American women. They normally have problems even getting dates and this is a way for them to be in control of someone's elses life.

I could careless. American men tend to stereo type and find out in the end, that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. They still end up pay for everything and losing their shirts in the divorce. It isn't that the women are better from other countries, the men who marry them are just pigs and no upstanding American woman will put up with their crap.....

A man as well as a woman have the right to choose who they want to marry. If they want another culture they are free to choose that. I know a man who married a Filipino and ended up with her whole family of stubborn, smart elecks and he is miserable and getting a divorce which she conned him for it all anyway. She just wanted USA citizenship and half of everything he has. She got it too. This kind of thing is going on all over the US. Men getting conned by Koreans, Filipino's....etc. I know person after person this has happened to. These women are at the Internet cafes looking for any sucker they can con. So go for it dude.

It's their loss not mine, American women are superior by far in so many areas than other women of the world.. I guess if you want a woman who sits and keeps her mouth shut like a bump on a log then go for it and good luck.

As are women....it just that women don't have to pay.

I know a guy who did that...because he thought she'd be more compliant. Hehehehe....lazy is more like it. I asked why he said for sex, ironically 7 years into their marriage he doesn't find her attractive, they have nothing in common and he has to look outside of the marriage for the nooky. Mymy isn't it ironic.
