Retox - no need to say sorry. In fact I feel rather sorry for you if you can't feel any empathy whatsoever with people suffering a natural disaster.

Retox - if you meant that you didn't feel the earthquake itself, apologies for misunderstanding!

What happened is horrible. Condolences go out to all those who have suffered in this earthquake. Sadly we live in a society where more people seem to be concerned with celebrity worship.

In reality I'm know we all give a damn but this place is sureality. I'm ashamed to say that I have heard about it on the radio but seen nothing about it on tv. My heart goes out to these poor people who also will have lost loved ones and homes. The International community will rally round with aid of course but that is little consolation when you have lost everything.
I would imagine that is how the McCanns are feeling right now as they have lost a daughter.

I've had the news on all day and haven't heard about this..
That's a big earthquake...where was it??
Football's on TV at the moment so no chance of changing channels... I'll search the internet.
Edit: Ah, just heard it on the news - football over.
It was in Sumatra, Indonesia, West Coast. Now I need to listen properly. Very sad, poor Indonesia do get the bad weather.

Earthquakes are unfortunately two-a-penny this century. The plates are angry! Society has created a culture that wants to spice up its life with sleeze, malevolence, drugs, blame etc. The powers of Nature and environmental stresses mean very little to pea-brain TV addicts.

I do. It was in Indonesia, off the west coast of Sumatra. I don't think anyone cares and that truly saddens me. I felt the same when Peru had an earthquake a few weeks ago. Hundreds died! Pobrecitos..

the mccann saga's ticking away,
adequately well without us.
the problem with this quake in Indonesia is they will blame the Evil West for upsetting Allah, they did last time, probably will again.
i give a damn.
i've sent a donation via the Red Cross.
any one can & it would be better spent than giving it to the find madeline fund.
over a million pounds & it's no nearer finding the one important factor in the whole messy saga.
