I like this question a lot! starred!! =]

i'm not exactly sure what I thought (I was 8 when it happened) because I didn't really understand what happened in the first place. i thought it was a big mistake, that the two planes somehow made its way through the twin towers unintentionally. I remember writing in my journal at school about the whole tragedy... and I said something like "I think it was a very sad mistake and I'm very sad"... but the year after (on september 11) my dad explained in more detail what actually happened. last year i saw United 93 and I was bawling through the end!

it's so sad, i'm surprised that they didn't say anything on the announcements yesterday... that's pretty bad.

I remember when I visited New york in the summer we saw the plaque of all of the 9/11 deaths... it was so sad that more than 2000 people died! What's even more sad is that we had to PAY to see the memorial... I personally disagree with that because it's like they're making money off all of these deaths... people shouldn't have to pay for stuff like that.

There is no superpower to attack us, so it's a moot point. I'm truly dismayed that it seems nobody yet has figured out that almost any war we might fight in the forseeable future will be a fourth-generation type, as we've fought before and are fighting now, and the average American doesn't even know what that is. How are we expected to prepare for, let alone support, something of which we have no understanding? When is the last time you heard anybody in the media even use the term "4th generation warfare?"

I was thinking a few things... (I wrote them in my diary)

God Help all the victims and their families. Iraq... You have NO IDEA what you just started. Together we fight for our freedom, together we fall for our freedom. Things will never be the same. I will see a war in my lifetime, will it be WWIII?

What was I doing?

Going back to Junior year of high school. Clipping out the newspaper stories to save, and show my grandchildren. Holding my friends who were crying over their losses of loved ones. Praying for everyone affected. Asking why this happened. Trying to understand why people hated America so much. And the biggest thing I did was... Open my eyes to the ways of the world. Everyone hates us, and we know it.

Sorry for asking, but I'm guessing 9/11 was six years ago? I'm not American so I'm afraid I'm not totally sure which year it was.
I basically just felt bad for you guys having to deal with something like that. It was really shocking for something like that to happen, especially in this day and age.

still in shock over what had happened, but also we were in panic mode at work as I'm at a corporate travel office and we had travelers stranded all over the country. airports were closed for days and some people didn't understand that we just couldn't open an airport for them. thankfully, a lot of car rental companies were letting people drive their cars back home (hundreds of miles for some people) and not charging them any more money. it was really rough for people who were traveling.

Worried to **** whether or not my friend who worked in building 2 was alive. Well, I was also thinking about my friend who worked in building 7, but I was rest assured that night by the news that all occupants of that building survived.
