Why is that good looking criminals are almost always assumed innocent?

I don't know that I agree with you on that, even the good looking Paris Hilton spent a little time in the slammer. Keep in mind that 95% of the criminals are tried for theft, drugs, etc. and those types aren't going to be looking too great. They have no money and have been living a hard life. The high profile cases that I think you are thinking about are the cases of wealthy or celebrities who can afford high dollar lawyers, great clothes, etc. Obviously they are a great minority of the cases but a majority of the ones that you see. Go to court for a couple of days and watch the groups that are going throgh non jury trials and see if you change your mind.

Because even good looking people are entitled to a presumption of innocence under the 5th, 6th and 14th Amendments.
