Wouldn't that be a bit like going to Auschwitz for passover? Innocent men and women were tortured and executed there, hardly a place for a festival!

For those who would say it's terrible to go there and celebrate: I'm descended from one of the women who was unfortunately persecuted and then executed for supposed witchcraft. However, I have no problem going to Salem and celebrating Halloween. Enjoy!

it's a lot of fun, but in recent years the Fundies are out, too, so watch out.
some events start the weekend before, but town is a crazy mass of activity by late afternoon on H itself.

I did it when I was younger. It's a bit touristy. We had more fun zooming out of Salem and going to a lobster shack, a maple farm, outdoorsy stuff.
It's probably worse now.
