They are required by law to deliver what has your address on it. It's not up to them to make individual decisions on what is junk and what is not. You can do what I do and that is put "Return to Sender" and send it back.

There are two types of junk mail

1) Mail addressed to you personally. A bank bought a database of names and mailed shot them all.

2) The post office has been given a leaflet to put through everyones door.

You have two choices. The first one is to write to the company that addressed junk mail to you and ask them to be removed off their database. An individual can do this but they can still mail shot a company.

Second one is to register your address not to receive leaflets. Either search the net or enquire with the post office.

The post office get paid to leaflet drop and the staff get so much of it. If the Government are serious on global warming and recyling, then why haven't they banned all of this junk mail?

Open the junk mail, take the prepaid envelope out, put some junk mail in it and post it back. No cost to you !!!

Leaflets without your name, put in an envelope adressed to "Royal Mail" and put in a post box. Np cost to you !!!!

Unfortunately, it would be breaking the Law. If you paid DHL to deliver a package for you, then you would expect DHL to deliver it. IF they came back to you and said ' we thought it was rubbish and didn't want to deliver it.' you'd be pretty peeved to say the least, and would also be able to take them to court for breach of contract. It is the same with the post. by accepting the mail, even if is junk, they have made a contract. If you do not wish to receive junk mail, there is a site that you can register with that removes you details from most Junk mail data bases.

Because the Post office has got a contract to do just that. he has no other choice than to resign if he won't do it. Don't blame that poor blighter blame his employers.

Have you enrolled with the postal preference service? if you have not done do it. it will take a while but will stop most of it so. sometimes the Post Office try to put pressure on about not getting important Gov.publications. tell the your other leg has bells on.

It's not the postman's fault, Royal Mail get paid by these companies. If it hasn't got your name on it put it back in the post box and let Royal Mail re-collect it, jams up the post box, but it works. Get your neighbours to do the same.

Because if someone has paid to have a letter delivered the post office MUST deliver it - or they have effectively stolen from their customers, because their customers have paid for a service the post office hasn't done. This applies whether you want to receive the mail or not - they MUST deliver it, even if you throw it away the instant it hits your floor.

The post man has nothing to do with what you recieve. His job is to sort and deliver mail. For that matter, it has nothing to do with the post office either. Why give him a hard time when he is just doing his job? Just put the s**t in the garbage and forget about it!

Umm, it's his job. All kidding aside, it is the law. It's a federal offense for the postman to not deliver mail to the house it is addressed to or to just dump it.

What a silly question? A postal worker is employed to grant the mail. Senders of classified ads and different "junk" mail have paid for that mail to be added. The postal worker has no suitable to no longer do their interest and grant the mail, regardless of regardless of if or no longer they think of it truly is "junk" mail or no longer. purely on account which you do in contrast to doing something at artwork, on account which you think of this is not of fee, are you allowed to trash it or purely enable it slide? I heavily doubt it.

Because he is doing what his job entails...delivery post to an address on the envelope

If you want him to stop. Its the royal mail or whoever is responsible for the postman that you need to inform of your preferences
