When they still had coat rooms to put your coats, lunch boxes in etc. I barely do - I think it's when I had started grade school.

Yes, I do ! But, we only had the coat rooms for Kindergarten and Grade 1, after that we graduated to Lockers. Gosh I can still remember all the grade school teachers I had all the way from Kindergarten.

That must be an American thing, because I don't remember coat rooms here in Australia. I remember hooks alongside the classroom in the hallway. The one thing I remember that they don't do anymore is the free milk in the morning. Each day the teacher would send two kids to the canteen with an empty laundry basket to collect the milk, it used to come in little triangular tetra packs with straws stuck to the side.

Yes, I remember that. It was in the back of the classroom. I think in my last year of grade school, they just had coat racks instead of rooms.

yeah back when i was in 6th grade. for some reason the coat room stood out the most that year....i guess cuz it was so friggin big. i used to get put in it when i wouldn't stop talking and here i am still talking away. i'm good at talking..lol

I remember coat rooms....also there was a daily check list in elementary school for every student for clean hair, clean hands, shined shoes, handkerchief....

LOL yeah. I remember that for 4th grade I wore the same outfit every day until Field Day, when I finally wore a different outfit.

and all the grades where in one room with one wood burning stove to keep us all warm. On a good day, Pa would bring Ma into town in the buggy, and we didn't have to walk 10 miles to school.

Yeah, I remember. The first school I went to & in junior high (middle school now). The buildings were very old.
