Does anyone know the ingredients in the teriyaki sauce they put on the chicken? I've been trying to make it at home with no success.

This one is supposed to be pretty close...

TERIYAKI SAUCE

2 chicken breasts
1 cup soy sauce*
1/4 cup honey
2 to 3 cloves garlic
2 to 3 tbsp olive oil
1/4 to 1/2 tsp ginger

Take 2 chicken breasts flattened/pounded/beaten and place them in a dish.

Combine the ingredients for the teriyaki sauce. Pour the sauce over the chicken and let marinade for 30 minutes to 1 hour. I have noticed that marinading any longer makes the taste too strong.

I use the grill heated to 600-700 degrees and cook for 1 minute or so on each side. It is very important not to overcook the chicken so it stays tender. The chicken is very flat and will cook quickly.

Immediately take off the grill and serve on white rice. I use Jasmine rice which has a superior taste to normal white rice.

*If you really like to add more sauce over your rice you may want to use a lower sodium soy sauce. It is quite strong.

Enjoy!
