They say they're for the ethical treatment of animals, but apparently they don't consider humans animals. Human life seems to be valued lower than animal life.
I am all for treating animals with love and respect, but I think that when we put animals' lives first over human life, we are getting way off balance.

How about the PETA story a year or so ago about the PETA members who were caught dumping dead animals in dumpsters. They had picked up the animals from pounds and were believed to be taking them to someplace where they could be cared for. Then the PETA people killed the animals and tried to dump the bodies. They were accepting the animals just to make it look like they were caring and good and killed them because they had no way of taking care of them. In fact, Penn and Teller did a show where they got hold of PETA financial records (legally because PETA is a non-profit organizaton and they are required to make certain financial stuff public). PETA had bought a very large commercial freezer. A large walkin variety. Penn and Teller talked to experts and the only reason why someone would do that is to either store lots of perishable food or to store dead animals. It was a very interesting show.

You mean People Eating Tasty Animals? Nah, they're not extreme. Now, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, yeah they are extreme. I'm not for cruelty against domestic animals, but if I want to go out and hunt wild animals, I will.

I guess extreme brutality of animals in many cases calls for extreme measures by PETA.

I wouldn't say extreme just overly passionate about their beliefs. I think they would like to see the whole world become a bunch of vegans. I too like to see animals treated humanely but the way to do that is to lobby for tougher cruelty laws.

PETA are all vegans who want animals and humans on the same societal levels. In fact we should all be vegans and never harm or eat nay animals or their by-products.

Yeah, they go a little apesh*t sometimes. But who gives a rat's a** what PETA does? But I guess I should just stop monkeying around. I'm dog tired and I'm gonna get off Y!A and take a cat nap.

I agree. I respect what they stand for but have no respect for how they put their ideas across the table. Much like GreenPeace. Good ideas, bad execution.
