Frye won the starting job in the preseason by default. Nobody but Quinn looked good, and Quinn wasn't ready.
Frye got sacked 5 times in his limited play, and not because the o-line failed him, he just didn't get rid of the ball.
Anderson will be starting, but not for long. Crennel has already said Quinn could see playing time against Cincy if the situation and score are right.

Because the Cleveland Browns are an organization in complete disarray. They need a new coach, a new GM and probably new owners as well. That was literally the weirdest move I have literally seen in the NFL, EVER! You replace your starting QB with a guy who could not beat him out in the preseason and then trade him. Im sorry that is nuts. The Browns had an entire preseason to guage if or not Frye should be the starter, which they obviously felt he was in the shortterm until Quinn was ready. Then after one whole half of a game you bench him and go with the guy who couldn't win the job from him. It is sheer idiocy and it completely perplexes me. It is not that I really care since I am not a Browns fan, but it is still weird. Now you say Quinn is going to be the backup so he can be on an accelerated learning curve. If that was the case it should have been done since Quinn got into camp. It speaks of desperation on the part of a team who knows they are horrible, and of people trying to save their jobs instead of doing the right thing and going with Brady Quinn. Everybody in the NFL, must be laughing their heads off at the Browns organization over this.

They traded him to Seattle for a sixth round draft pick next year.
Why? Did you see him play? He was taken out in the beginning of the second quarter. Anderson is now #1, Quinn is #2, and Dorsey was resigned as the #3.

I'm also a Browns fan, and in truth I'm glad they traded him. He was just playing awful (not that Anderson is any better). And as much as I can't wait to see Quinn out on the field, I hope they don't rush it. We must remember the Tim Couch fiasco in '99.

that pretty much shows how much confidence crennel had in him. 1 quarter of bad play and youre gone. they signed dorsey to be the backup but he isnt that much better than frye. but it makes sense since quinn will be the future QB for the next decade.

They did it because he is not very good and the fans want Quinn to play some and now he will.

if you were a true fan, you'd know all this already.
he was replaced in the starting lineup Sunday by Anderson
and eventually (as in, this week or in a couple weeks) Brady Quinn
and they did it because his whole team blows, and he's the quarterback who hasn't been playing paticularly well himself
