Do you get a headache? Do you worry you spent too much? Do you ever wish you had bought something that you didn't? Have you ever bought something that you wished you didn't?

The worst place for me is the grocery store. I think I freak out in there so much because I won't know *exactly* how much I'm spending until I get to the register.

I buy a lot of things I wish I hadn't bought...and I will sometimes return items.
I also think about things I should have purchased but didn't. Usually it is something like laundry soap, when I run out completely and have to buy it...I always think back to when it was on sale and how I should have stocked up on it.

I have not panicked but I have both wish I HAD bought something and also wish I HAD NOT bought something.

Oddly enough I still remember passing up a candle holder for my lounge area about 5 years ago!!! DANG it!!

not headaches- those are reserved for when i freak out that i don't have enoughsaved ;' )
i worry about spending too much, but thats not a bad thing for me. i use that fear of being poor to be very deliberate with what i buy- i plan what i'm going to buy, how much i want to pay for it, and make sure i'm getting quality for the money- when i get a deal ( like its on sale and cheaper than i'd planned on spending) i put the difference in savings. i also allow in my budget for what i call comfort purchases- things i may not technically need but that will make me feel good or relaxed- like new running clothes or a manicure. when you think about what money should bring you you realize that comfort should be one of them. these purchase are rare, but highly anticipated becuase they are planned for and looked forward to.
after reading david bach's "smart women finish rich" i realized that there were several things i wanted money to do for me-
keep me secure, ie. short term savings, retirememnt saving,
allow me to enjoy my life as it is- ie my comfort purchases, and allow me to follow my dreams ie. long term savings for my house, saving for travel - i'm going to india for a month! I'd nver have been able to do that before!
when you have a plan you're able to relieve fears...
good luck! ( oh and check out that book!)

No. I have a written budget, so I know exactly how much I can spend and where.
