I wouldn't buy her either. If she wants it, then she can earn it. Of the two, I would favor the Navigator. There are a lot more Lincoln dealers to get it serviced than Land Rover dealers.
There are more parts available for the Lincoln too.

"We value too lightly, the things that are acquired too easily"

The only way to appreciate something that we have, is to work for it and earn it.

If those were my only two choices I would probably choose the land rover because the company that makes it has a better history of longer-lasting and value-retaining for when you choose to sell. Lincoln navigator is made by Ford, which is a great company, but it doesn't hold as much weight as Land rover/Range Rover.

You don't want a "Nav" unless you are ghetto and want to pretend like you are rich.
A Land Rover, Range Rover is the way to go. It has everything you need to really go off roading, or take you to the Opera. Its suspension automaticaly adjusts the hight of the car depending on the activity. If you are on the free way, it lowwers the car to make it more stable, if you are off road it will rise to full highth to give you ground clearance. It is the best there is.

No, I wouldn't. It's not worth all the negatives if all she wanted was to be seen in a big box. My wife would have absolutely no business in either of those vehicles. I wouldn't plunk down my money just for her to be a poser.

Good comment about the Cayenne. Have you checked the prices on the Cayenne? It's a lot cheaper than I would have thought.

Navigator. Land Rover's are overpriced junk.

But if I had some real choices I would by her a Lexus or Nissan SUV.
